Calicut IT Initiative (CITI) is a Professional Citizens' Initiative formed with the objective of Placing Calicut in the radars of IT Companies when they are looking for potential Tier II and Tier III Cities. In addition to IIM Kozhikode and National Institute of Technology, the major professional bodies in Calicut: Calicut IT Forum, Kerala Builder's Forum, Malabar Chamber of Commerce and Calicut Management Association are behind this Initiative. Hon. Minister for Industries, Sri Elamarom Kareem, Hon. Mayor of Calicut Corporation, District Collector and Directors of IIM & NIT are the patrons of this movement. In the past CITI had conducted a few brainstorming meetings with Industry leaders and Govt. representatives (Sri Jyothilal IAS, IT Advisor to Chief Minister, CEO of Technopark, TVM, MD of Kinfra were some of the officials who helped this movement during last year in these deliberations).

In addition to marketing Calicut as a potential IT destination CITI is actively interacting with infrastructure providers in Calicut to remove bottlenecks in development of the Industry in this region.
